Tenuta San Guido 'Guidalberto' is a blend in the Bordeaux style. First released in 2000 as a second wine to the iconic Sassicaia but in a more approachable, drinkable style while still showing great aging potential. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it embraces a younger style that seeks fragrance and sweetness on the palate, characteristics that Merlot can offer even with a relatively short ageing period. A full-bodied wine of intense red fruit flavor and elegantly supple texture supported by ripe, silky tannins. The Merlot in the blend is expressed in sweet fruit with overall aromas of ripe, concentrated berries offset by restrained spicy oak notes. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot.
